WHO is TechOwl?
You know the deals are out there. Shopping full retail price at a big box store can’t be the only option. If only there was a way to access to insider open box deals and refurbished products without having to talk to Weird Cousin Steve who Knows About Computer Stuff. Because, let’s face it, that dude is one more action figure away from being a total shut-in. And his mom’s basement smells funny.
Wow, good thing you found Tech Owl. Because we go direct to the manufacturer and get access to the best name-brand open box and refurbished products available. For each deal we find, you get a window of opportunity to buy great computers, televisions, electronics and accessories at prices way below retail and usually way below any other deal you’ll find online too.
How does TechOwl do it?
Let’s try an experiment:
Stroll up to your nearest big computer manufacturer, knock on the door and say:
“Hi there, I’m a random consumer and I was wondering if you’d mind if I look around your inventory to see what you’ve got? I only want one or two things from your shelves and I only want to pay about half of what I would normally pay at a retail store. Oh, I want a full warranty and I want you to deliver it to my house. You guys okay with that?” (Hint: they’re going to say no. They may even call the police.)
What the TechOwl does (yes, we refer to ourselves in the third person – we’re that awesome) is we contact these manufacturers and make a deal with them: TechOwl will feature their top-of-the-line, but last-season products on TechOwl.com for a short period of time. We’ll sell their products in bulk so that they don’t have to go to the bother of advertising them or shipping them to retail stores. They get to sell their stock with no fuss and no muss, we get a small mark-up on the sale and you get a great deal.
What kind of stuff do we sell?
Let me level with you – TechOwl is never going to have the latest 15-minute sensation from Apple. If you want to squeal over the latest Steve Jobs experiment you a) have more money than I do and b) infinitely more patience for standing in long lines.
What we DO have are quality, brand-name products that are the latest and greatest from last season, or that were returned and have been factory refurbished to pristine condition. These are great products that have been replaced on today’s retail shelves by their slightly improved counterparts. All of our merchandise is direct from the manufacturers, in most cases factory sealed and everything is available for warranty.
So ask yourself: has the cool laptop I wanted to buy 6 months ago become so obsolete that I want to spend possibly hundreds of dollars more for at the store now? No really, ask yourself. We’ll wait.
